My academic life is being reborn. (I'm heading off to graduate school in the fall.) I think truth is beauty, and so is innocence. Beauty, when viewed simply as an aesthetic quality, can also be truthful. Regardless of substance, beauty posesses a captivating facade that at least appears to be the essence of truth. It's a shame our lives are fleeting...that urn will outlast us all.

Luckily, I haven't had to endure many storms. I do remember, however, the 1993 Blizzard, which occured when I was 10 years old. We had to melt snow to use for toilet water and cook food in our fireplace. Because I was so young, though, I don't remember any sense of urgency or fright.
